Dan: I have been very good and busy. Last year was probably my most profitable year and my biggest dollars gain ever since I started trading. I had some big winners such as Google, Apple and housing and oil stocks. The majority of my money was made on Google first then Apple second. I made some on Sandisk and then the housing stocks. I really can’t complain, it’s been going exceptionally well.

Forex Training: What to Look for in a Forex Training Program

All forex traders are advsied to take Forex trading courses or join a Forex training program? By now you have probably heard that only 5% of traders achieve consistent profitable results when trading the Forex market. The main reason for this is the lack of education. Don't get me wrong here, taking a Forex training program or a Forex trading course won't guarantee profitable results, nothing can, but choosing the right Forex training program or Forex trading course will definitely put the odds in your favor.
Before spending any amount of money on any Forex trading course or Forex training program there are some important aspects you need to take in consideration. There are many training programs available, but not every one of them suits the needs of every trader.

The first thing you should be looking in a Forex training program is the content of the material. Unfortunately, most courses or training programs focus or spend most of the time on basic concepts. Though these basic concepts are important, spending most of the course on them won't help the trader to make consistent results.

Forex Trading Education: Things You Should Know About Forex Trading

How difficult is it to make money trading the Forex market? How much time does it take to actually be able to make a living trading the Forex market? These and other important aspects of trading are to be discussed in this article.
Trading the Forex market has many benefits over other financial markets, among the most important are: superior liquidity, 24hrs market, better execution, and others. Traders and investor see the Forex market as a new speculation or diversifying opportunity because of these benefits. Does this mean that it is easy to make money trading the Forex Market? Not at all.

Forex brokers agree that 90% of traders end up losing money, 5% of traders end up at break even and only 5% of forex traders achieve consistent profitable results. With these statistics shown, I don't consider trading to be an easy task. But, is it harder to master any other endeavor? I don't think so, consider musicians, writers, or even other businesses, the success rates are about the same, there are a whole bunch of them who never got to the top.

Forex Trading Basics: Concepts and Psychology

1. Commissions and Spreads

How much commission or spread do you pay per trade? You should know this answer without hesitation. Is your spread competitive and reasonable? That might have a number of different answers.
How much you pay for commissions is critical. Before we start it's important to acknowledge that reliable and quality fills are equally as important, that customer service when needed and a well-designed trading interface are also critical to an active trader. So don't let what follows mean we think you should just pursue the very lowest commission charge. That's not the case, but you should be sure you are trading with a firm that is very competitive in all areas - commissions, service, fills and trading platform.

Let's take an example. What if you had a trading system that in 100 trades would "win" 80 times. That's a fairly spectacular 80% win ratio. If you were told you had a guarantee to win 80% of the time, chances are you wouldn't hesitate much more than the time it takes to hit "Submit" to place your first order. But do you realize that it can be fairly easy to actually lose money, even with a system that wins 80% of the time?

Ok, you have decided you are going to trade the Forex market. You might think this is your opportunity to reach your financial freedom, right away, time is money, why waiting any longer if you have the opportunity to make money now. Forex traders, make transactions based on a set of rules. These sets of rules are what we call a Trading System. Don't Change Time Frames to Stay in a Losing Trade

Too many times I hear about new traders opening a trade using the 5-minute chart (not my favorite approach) and when the market moves against them, they move to the 15-minute chart to justify staying in a little longer, hoping that the market will turn around.

Then if the market continues to move against them, they move out to the hourly chart to look for a reason to stay in the trade. As the market continues to move against them, they shift to the daily chart to hope to find a reason to stay in the trade. The next step is to get a margin call because they have no funds left to maintain their position. Of course, the main issue here is that they were looking for a way to stay in a losing trade rather than closing it out at a small loss. Taking a loss does not mean that you do not know what you are doing.
